Who am I?
Discover a little bit of my background to get an idea of who I am.
My Name is Eslam Omar Ghonem. I was born in 1998 in a village near Cairo, just a stone’s throw from an ancient wonder: Sahure’s Pyramid. While this historic site is not officially open to the public, I spent my childhood wandering among its ancient stones, unaware of their profound significance in world history.
I am the youngest son in a family of farmers and hosts. Even as a child, my family welcomed guests from around the globe, which allowed me to learn English naturally through interaction. The revolution had a significant economic impact on my family when I was just 13, and while still in school, I took on various jobs to support us. From picking crops to driving a TukTuk through the bustling streets of Cairo, I gained not only a deep familiarity with the city's neighborhoods but also a wealth of life experience.
Later, while working at my brother's small hotel, I had the privilege of meeting people from all over the world. It was then that I discovered my true passion: bringing joy to others and creating memorable experiences.
Through this website, I aim to share my travel consulting services to make your stay in Cairo and Egypt truly unforgettable - and in order to sustain myself and my family.
I would love to help you discover both the ancient and contemporary sides of this fascinating place - my home. While I may not be a trained archaeologist, I am a well-versed local guide who can show you the most surprising and authentic corners of Cairo and beyond.
This is my mum, a guest and me as a child, ca. 2005.
